Summary
Olympic national park is home to the largest unmanaged herd of Roosevelt elk in the Pacific Northwest. They are also the largest variety of elk in North America. They are much larger than the black-tailed deer that inhabit the same areas. There are non-migratory herds in the Hoh area.
