DARDANELLES (Aug. 22, 2008) Quartermaster Seaman Apprentice Derek Evoy looks through a telescopic alidade, which plots the bearings for the guided-missile destroyer USS McFaul (DDG 74) while the ship begins its approach into the Turkish Straits. McFaul is providing humanitarian assistance to the Republic of Georgia following the conflict between Russian and Georgian forces. The assistance being provided will aid in and alleviating human suffering in the Republic of Georgia.
