Possibly made by British photographer Richard Beauford at the 1851 Crystal Palace Exposition in London; newspaper pasted to the back of the frame refers to Mr. Beauford and the Crystal Palace. Daguerreotype was formerly attributed to Richard Beauford.
Possibly related to Luisa Fernanda, Duchess of Montpensier; newspaper pasted to the back of the frame refers to the birth of her daughter. Sitter was formerly identified as the Duchess of Montpensier.
Housed in a thermoplastic frame.
