Plundered Native American grave site with broken pottery
Summary
This is a photograph of a looted grave site of the Ancestral Puebloan people. Archaeologists and began removing artifacts from their historical contexts in the 1880s. In the 1960s looters began using bulldozers and backhoes to excavate grave sites to find artifacts to sell on the black market.
