Avraham Soskin (1881-1963) was indeed a remarkable Russian-Israeli photographer, known for his significant contributions to the field of photography in both Russia and Israel. Born in 1881 in what is now Belarus, Soskin immigrated to Ottoman Palestine in 1904. He settled in Jaffa (now part of Tel Aviv), where he opened a photography studio. One of Soskin's most famous photographs is 'The First Siren', taken in 1948 during the Israeli War of Independence.
