APOLLO 8 WATER EGRESS TRAINING - A member of the Apollo 8 prime crew is hoisted up to a U.S. Coast Guard helicopter during water egress training in the Gulf of Mexico. In center is Apollo Boilerplate 1102 A, which was used in the training exercise. MSC swimmers assist with the training operations. Taking part in the training were Astronauts Frank Borman, commander; James A. Lovell Jr., command module pilot; and William A. Anders, lunar module pilot.
