Ottoman Loan certificate 1933
Summary
Français : Récépissé provisoire de 1933 destiné aux détenteurs d'obligations d'un emprunt public de 1909 contracté par le défunt empire ottoman.
English: 1933 provisional certificate intended for bondholders of a 1909 public loan contracted by the defunct Ottoman Empire. The certificate lists the financial obligations incurred by successor states of the Ottoman Empire (aside of the Republic of Turkey) in relation to that loan. The share of each of those state is related to portions of their territory that belonged to the Ottoman Empire when the loan was contracted. Greece, which had annexed most of Macedonia and Epirus, has the highest obligation due to both the size and the wealth of the territories annexed. The definitive allotment of the successor states obligations was decided by an international commission in June 1933.
