ARABIAN GULF (Feb. 9 2004)-- Petty Officer 3rd Class Zachary Coone, 20, from Winston-Salem, N.C., uses his radio to check in with other members of the boarding team from the USCGC Aquidneck as they search a cargo dhow for contraband. The Coast Guard has deployed four 110-foot patrol boats to the region to support U.S. Navy 5th Fleet and coalition forces during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Maritime Interception Operations to stop illegal oil smuggling and to search for terrorists.
