On February 12, 2006 soldiers from B Company, 2-506INF (Band of Brothers) conducted Cordon and Knock operations in Southern Baghdad as part of Operation Astar Gate. One of the objectives was to raid the home of a suspected terrorist, capture him, and gather evidence that could convict him and others of terrorist activities.
