Heidi Walker, Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune Pregnancy Centering Program coordinator and Captain Amy Branstetter, NHCL Executive Officer highlight Women’s Health Month, announcing a mammogram screening event Oct. 12. The hospital will host other events throughout the month to raise awareness of women’s health including a video podcast where Heidi, the XO and others will answer beneficiaries’ questions regarding women’s health. Capt. Branstetter has served as a Labor & Delivery Nurse and a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner, among other assignments during her Navy career. She has been recognized by the Association of Women’s health, Obstetrics, and Neonatal Nursing as their Armed Forces District Junior Nurse of the Year in 1999, and the Armed Forces District Advanced Practice Nurse of the Year in 2008. Heidi first became in involved with the Centering Program in 2012, and assumed the lead of the NHCL Centering Program in 2014. She worked as an LPN in various Mother-Baby Units and as an OB Triage Nurse prior to focusing her career on the Pregnancy Centering Program. (U.S. Navy photo by Michael Cole/released)
