Mussood Jan (right center, speaking), district governor of Reg District, Helmand province, Afghanistan, addresses village elders from his district during a shura, or council meeting, at Patol Base South Station, Helmand province, Afghanistan, March 5. Also in attendance was Lt. Col. Kenneth Kassner (left center), 3rd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion commander. The shura was hosted by Apache Company, 3rd LAR Battalion, and served as an opportunity for local leaders to voice their concerns and needs with district leadership and coalition security forces.
