Summary
Miniature watercolor portrait of Eliza Black Steel. This set of portraits were made in Edinburgh and purchased by Matthew Steel during his honeymoon trip in 1840. He later made the frames for the miniatures when he returned to his workshop in Northern Ireland. Matthew and Eliza Steel later moved to St. Louis where Matthew worked as a carriage maker.Title: Miniature Portrait of Eliza Black Steel
