Master Sgt. William Wisecup, operations noncommissioned officer, U.S. Army Alaska Aviation Task Force, emerges from the fog as he ascends Ester Dome road, a 3,000 foot climb along the 52nd Annual Equinox marathon and 6th Annual Ultramarathon trail, both races follow the same route for the first 20 miles. Ullrhaven summit marks the 13 mile mark and halfway point for the marathoners. The Ultra runners have another 27 miles to go in Fairbanks, Alaska, Sept. 20, 2014.
