Maj. Gen. Ronald L. Bailey, commanding general, 1st Marine Division, boards a Marine Corps UH-1 utility helicopter to tour Camp Pendleton's ranges and individual training lanes, Aug. 24, 2011. Bailey toured with Maj. Gen. David H. Berger, assistant division commander, both flown by Marines with Marine Light Attack Squadron 169. Camp Pendleton's ranges have gone through significant modernization initiatives since 2005, including development of improvised explosive device training areas and live-fire ranges. 1st Marine Division's leadership was able to become familiar with what Camp Pendleton offers to Marines training for combat.
