Local Afghan workers install electrical wiring in the new cell phone tower being built in Musa Qal’eh, Oct. 17. According to Gunnery Sgt. Ryan Powell, civil affairs chief, 1st Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, Regimental Combat Team 2, the new cell tower, which is replacing Roshan Tower, will have a 6-8 mile transmission radius and allow 200-250 callers at one time. Having the new tower will allow local Afghan nationals along with the Afghan National Army and Afghan National Police to stay in contact with their families.
