Letter to Anne Warren Weston - Public domain correspondence manuscripts

Unknown writes to Anne Warren Weston in regards to their illness. The author writes about Miss Massie and how she promised the author for the next Bazaar "some fine pictures." The author has the five dollars that was meant to be sent to Anne. The author hopes to do things for the Bazaar and has asked about the Crafts The author writes of her visit five days prior to Joanna Bailie, a Scottish poet and dramatist. The author writes of Ms. Montgomery's friends. A second incomplete letter which starts on page 3 where the author writes about an anti-slavery festival in which they see many abolitionists. They see Ellis Gray Loring at Sheffield and he made a speech about England and America being the "great backwasher of freedom contrasting them with the European states." Mr. Armstrong wrote a lettter to the Examiner in which the report appeared, commenting on their "forgetfulness." Mr. Chapman has written an article for the second number. The author writes that they are "cheating the Philadelphia Train out of a moving work by writing to you." The author goes on to say, that they are "only an A[nti]. S[lavery]. carpet sweeper picking up odds and ends that happen to be thrown down, and tying them together."
