Letter from Samuel Lee, Hopekinton, to Amos Augustus Phelps, June 26 1830
Summary
Samuel Lee writes to Amos A. Phelps to mediate between Phelps and a church in Hopkinton that wishes to obtain him as its minister. Lee says he mentioned to them that the salary was deficient, and that they are “sensible of it.” He informs Phelps of what people in Hopkinton are willing to offer him in terms of salary and other benefits. He then asks Phelps whether he found place for himself [Lee] to preach. He also asks Phelps to give his regards to Asa Turner.
