Summary
Samuel Fessenden regrets that he is unable to attend the annual meeting of the New England Anti-Slavery Society. Judge Prentiss Mellen and Stephen Longfellow have been converted by William Lloyd Garrison's "Thoughts on Colonization." Fessenden received a copy of Mississippi's new constitution in the mail. The constitution prohibits the emancipation of slaves without the consent of the owner.
