Summary

Facsimile of a letter written by Marshall L. Scudder on behalf of the West Indian Mission Committee to unknown persons regarding a circular on behalf of the West Indian Mission, "a part that was only intended for the public. The substance of that part you will find in the accompanying paper. It is intended to inform the friends of the Mission, in what ways beside the contribution of money, they may extend aid to it." He writes of the temperance movement, stating that "in the 'appeal' put forth by our Committee mention was made of the importance of the mission in its bearings & influence upon the cause of temperance, & an Extract was given from a letter on the subject." He also includes private information on the Mission that "should not be printed."
