Summary
There is a separate article attached to the front of this letter from the Liberator (volume XXIII, no.30) issued in Boston, July 29, 1853, titled, "West India Emancipation: Celebration At Framingham." The article discusses the 19th anniversary celebration of the abolition of slavery in the West Indies. A circular letter written by John Bishop Estlin discusses the education of William and Ellen Craft, two African American fugitives, at the Ockham schools and a financial account of the expenses incurred. On the back is a list of British abolitionists who contributed to fund for William and Ellen Craft's education and how much they paid.
