Letter from E. Whitney, New York, to Amos Augustus Phelps, 1843 May 12
Summary
E. Whitney writes to Amos A. Phelps writes to Phelps regarding his appointment as agent of the American Society for the Promotion of Christian Morals to the London Sabbath Protection Society. He is unable to give all the information desired but will give all that has been obtained. Whitney writes, "I am unable to give you..account of our operations before the leaving of the mail this afternoon. This is in short preaching, lecturing & circulating in foundation by books, facts etc. We have facts as to the expense of sabbath mails but have not as yet made them public." Whitney wants Amos to "act as our agent in any way you may think best for the advancement of the cause."
