Summary

David Rodgers (1865-1923) was a master shipfitter who worked at the Puget Sound Naval Station, Moran Brothers Company, Seattle Construction & Drydock Company, and was general manager at the Skinner & Eddy Corporation shipyard in Seattle from 1916 until 1919. Under Rodgers' management, the crew broke production speed records for ship construction and completed more ships for the U. S. war effort than any other American shipyard.
This image of the SS David Rodgers was taken immediately after launching from the Skinner & Eddy shipyard. The ship was in service as a freighter until 1951.
