Summary

Hand colored birds-eye view print shows view of the battlefield near the city of Höchstädt, Germany on August 13, 1704 when troops from the Austrian imperial army and its allies fought and won against combined French and Bavarian forces. Includes view of the Danube river along the middle to right side of the print, the cities of Lauingen and Dillingen at the top, Hochstet (Höchstädt ) in the center and smaller villages of Schwiningen, Taftheim and Munster Erlinkoven at the bottom of the print. Locations of troops and particular divisions are illustrated and listed. Allegorical images of Unicorn, Griffin, Lion, Pheasant and a Sun peeking out behind a cloud are identified as England, The Emperor, The Netherlands, Marshal Ferdinand Marsin and France above the title.
