Japanese - Tsuba with Jurôjin - Walters 51115 - Back
Summary
This tsuba shows Jurôjin, who is one of the seven gods of good fortune. He is often depicted with a deer, as seen here, or a crane. Both are signs of longevity. Jurôjin is dressed as a scholar. The pine tree on the back of the tsuba is also a sign of longevity.
