It is good fun learning to make shoes in the cobbler's shop at Issy-le-Moulineaux, one of the colonies established by the Comite Franco-Americaine pour la Protection des Enfants de la Frontiere. The Comite with aid from the American Red Cross cares for about 1500 children from the invaded districts, many of whom have lost their parents through the war. They are given a good home, schooling and industrial training
