Hotel Washington, ca 1903 (MOHAI 5955)
Summary
Seattle's Hotel Washington sat grandly on top of Denny Hill between Second and Fourth Avenues and Stewart and Virginia Streets. When the hotel opened in 1890, it was named the Denny Hotel. The elegant building survived only until 1906, when the western part of Denny Hill was leveled.
This photo shows the Hotel Washington decorated to welcome an important visitor, possibly President Theodore Roosevelt in 1903.
