Historic Structures of the William Allen White Cultural Landscape
Summary
William Allen White Cabin/Studio Historic District, Rocky Mountain National Park. This image displays the upper and lower sleeping cabins, the pit privy, and the studio to the rear. It is likely that these four structures were added to the site in 1913, although there is some discrepancy as to their origin.
White's autobiography notes that he built them in 1913 after purchasing the cabin. Other sources state they were added in 1930, and yet others offer that the buildings were purchased rather than constructed. Regardless, they were historically a part of the district during White's period of ownership.
