Victor Rupert Laidlaw (1893-1983), enlisted into the service on 18th August 1914. His diaries held in the Australian Manuscripts Collection were written on route to Alexandria with the 2nd Field Ambulance on S.S. Wiltshire; in Mena Camp at Cairo; on Lemnos Island and Dardanelles; at Cape Hellas and Anzac Cove, Gallipoli, and in France.
