Nicolas Mignard (1606–1668) was a French painter and engraver born in Troyes. He was a pupil of Simon Vouet and later became a member of the Royal Academy of Painting and Sculpture in Paris. Mignard was known for his portraits, religious paintings and mythological scenes, and his style was characterised by elegance and refinement. He also worked as a decorator, creating frescoes for various churches and palaces in France. Mignard's work was highly regarded during his lifetime and he was considered one of the leading painters of his time.
