Five Kuchi boys gather and talk about the new shoes they received during a U.S. Forces-Afghanistan Detachment West-sponsored humanitarian mission to his village in Herat province Nov. 18. In addition to receiving shoes and candy, the children were given toys. Nomadic Kuchi tribes often survive on the bare essentials and prior to the humanitarian convoy, these children had no toys.
