Scope and content: FEAF BOMBER COMMAND, JAPAN--A/2C Kenneth W. Roberts, of Weitchpee, Calif., assigned to the Japan-based 98th Bomb Wing, checks his trio of .50 caliber tail-stingers before another mission over North Korea in his U.S. Air Force B-29 "Superfort". When his aircraft enters Red territory, Roberts" eyes are vitally important. Sitting in the solitary tail compartment, 25 feet from the nearest crew member, he constantly scans the inky blackness for enemy fighters, Airman Roberts has flown 18 combat missions against enemy targets, and has been awarded the Air Medal, the UN Medal, and the Korean Medal.
