F-15 Eagles assigned to the 142nd Fighter Wing launch for the trip home following Exercise Vigilant Shield 2017, Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, Oct. 21, 2016. During this exercise, forces supporting North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) deployed and conducted air sovereignty operations in the far north and the high Arctic demonstrating the ability to detect, identify and meet possible threats in some of the most remote regions in the world.
