Description
English: Epitaph of Ammias, with inscriptions in Greek and in a semitic language and an engraved representation of the menorah (seven-branched candelabrum). From the Jewish catacombs of Monteverde, on the via Portuense, 3rd-4th centuries CE. Greek inscription: “Here lies Ammias, a Jew from Laodicea, who lived 85 years. Peace!”
