Emil “Batman” Conley from Lee Summit, poses for a photo before an oxygen mask demonstration at the 509th Operations Support Squadron during his Pilot for a Day tour on July 19, 2019, at Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri. Emil has medulloblastoma, which is the most common malignant brain tumor for children, and accounts for about 20 percent of all childhood brain tumors. Medulloblastoma can be treated with surgery, radiation therapy, as well as chemotherapy. Whiteman AFB collaborates with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to coordinate these tours.
