Summary
Khonsu could be represented either as a youth or a falcon-headed male with a moon-disk and crescent on his head, as here. He is mentioned as a moon god in the pyramid texts as early as the 3rd millennium BC. As the son of Amun and Mut he was worshipped in Karnak where he had his own temple from the Middle Kingdom onwards.
