Six scenes from the life of Jeanne d'Arc (1412–31) are depicted, her march on Paris (upper left); her arrow wound being dressed during the siege of Paris (upper right); the capture of the Tourelles, which liberated Orléans from the British (lower left); Jeanne praying before the shrine of St. Catherine, symbolizing the Church of St. Catherine-de-Fierboys, where she received her sword (left center); captured with her brothers, she is brought before Philip the Good (center right); and her burning at the stake in Rouen (lower center). On an obliquely-placed stone slab in the scene showing the taking of Orléans is the artist's signature [in ink].
