Distinguished guests participate in the opening ceremonies at the Shrine of Hazrat Ali, Blue Mosque, to kick off 1391 Nowruz, celebrating the new year, March 20, 2012. Nowruz or “New Day” marks the start of the vernal (Spring) equinox.
