Beirut, Lebanon (Jul. 21, 2006) Departing citizens make their way to a waiting U.S. Navy landing craft utility (LCU) vessel, for transfer to the amphibious transport dock USS Nashville (LPD 13). USS Nashville is on a regularly scheduled deployment, and is assisting the U.S. Central Command and 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) with the departure of U.S. citizens from Lebanon, at the request of the U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon and at the direction of the Secretary of Defense.
