Dazzle-camouflaged cargo vessels at sea RMG PV0923, William Lionel Wyllie
Summary
Dazzle-camouflaged cargo vessels at sea
The two dazzle ships are general cargo vessels, but there is no obvious evidence of the dazzle-paint patterns shown being applied to any particular merchant ship. The vessel dimly discerned between them appears to be an 'Ascot'-class paddle minesweeper of which there were 32 built between 1916 and 1918. the date of the drawing is therefore likely to be 1917-18.
