CVN 74 Hospital Corpsman conducts medical tests aboard ship
Summary
At sea aboard USS John C. Stennis Hospital Corpsman 2nd Class Kenneth Hendricks from Great Falls, MT, conducts bloodwork testing for a Stennis crewmember in the ships onboard medical laboratory. Petty Officer Hendricks attended an additional twelve months of specialized training in microbiology and phlebotomy in addition to the Navys basic hospital corpsman school, in Great Lakes, IL. In the United States Navy, these consist of ships commissioned with hull classification symbols CV (aircraft carrier), CVA (attack aircraft carrier), CVB (large aircraft carrier), CVL (light aircraft carrier), CVN (aircraft carrier (nuclear propulsion) and CVAN (attack aircraft carrier (nuclear propulsion). The first aircraft carrier commissioned into the United States Navy was USS Langley (CV-1) on 20 March 1922.
