description

Summary

Army Brig. Gen. Robert Hipwell, commander of the 300th Military Police Brigade and Camp Bucca (far left), along with Navy Capt. Bruce A. Derenski, Camp Bucca Deputy Commander for Support (far right), greet soldiers of the Oklahoma National Guard's 45th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Feb. 6. The soldiers of the 45th BCT are assigned to various missions at bases across Iraq. At Camp Bucca they will be conducting security and detainee operations. Camp Bucca is the largest detainee facility in Iraq, providing for the care and custody of more than 20,000 security detainees. Detainees are also offered educational and vocational programs such as literacy and carpentry to ensure that upon their potential release they will be better equipped to return to society as productive citizens.
