Cold Comfort from the Governor-elect

This illustration entitled, "Cold Comfort From the Governor-elect", by cartoonist Clifford Berryman, which appeared in the Washington Post on November 25, 1906, shows that newly-elected New York Governor, Republican Charles Evans Hughes, much to the surprise of his audience of party leaders and state legislators that he intends to be in charge.
