Summary

Large Hawaiian national coat-of-arms by S. K. Mookini, ink, watercolor and gilt on paper, 24 x 28 inches, signed and dated lower right ("S.K. Mookini, Lahainaluna, May 22, [19]13"), substantial koa wood frame.
The coat-of-arms was adopted by the Legislative Assembly of Hawaii in 1845. The motto translates as "the life of the land is perpetuated by righteousness."
