Chinese Warship Ting Yuang Visiting Japan

Summary

The Ting Yuang was the flagship of Chinese fleet and the biggest warship of the Far East.
Built in Germany in 1881, it was seriously damaged in 1895 during the Sino-Japanese war.

This print depicts one of its visits in the Japanese ports of Nagasaki and Yokohama in 1886 and 1891.
