Chief Walt “Red Hawk” Brown, the Cheroenhaka (Nottoway) Indian tribe chief, tells the history of Virginian Native Americans at the Langley Community Center, Nov. 30, 2012, at Langley Air Force Base, Va. Chief Red Hawk retired from the U.S. Army after 28 years of active-duty service, and uses Native American heritage events to teach others about his people, especially service members, with whom he shares a connection.
