Summary

CORONADO, Calif. (Oct. 25, 2007) Capt. Terry B. Kraft, commanding officer aboard Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), addresses the crew during a command-wide captain's call concerning the wildfires. Thousands of military families have been displaced by the wildfires in San Diego County, which have forced the evacuation of more than 500,000 and destroyed more than 1,000 homes. Dry winds, low humidity and high temperatures are contributing to some of the worst fires in Southern California's history.
