CAMP LEMONNIER, Djibouti - Chief selectees prepare to raise the U.S. flag during a 9/11 remembrance ceremony at Camp Lemonnier, Sept. 11, 2019. The ceremony honored the 2,997 people who lost their lives 18 years ago during the 9/11 attacks and paid tribute to the first responders and personnel who died while aiding victims. Camp Lemonnier is an operationally focused shore installation that enables U.S., allied and partner nation forces to be where and when they are needed to ensure security and stability in Europe, Africa and Southwest Asia.
