Summary
CAMP HANSEN, OKINAWA, Japan- U.S. Marines with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit prepare to escape from a Modular Amphibious Egress Trainer April 12, 2016, at the Camp Hansen swimming pool in Okinawa, Japan. The Marines learned how to escape aircraft in the event of a crash in open water. The MAET is one of the many ways Marines of the 31st MEU maintain their constant state of readiness. Prior to each deployment, the 31st MEU is thoroughly trained in a number of unique capabilities during a fast-paced workup cycle. This type of training allows the 31st MEU to be continually ready, even while MEU is in garrison on Okinawa. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl. Carl King Jr./Released)
