Brig. Gen. Mohammad Hashemi, the deputy commander of the Afghan General Directorate of Special Police Units, visited Afghan National Security Forces officers and their leadership in Gardez to mark the end of a direct mentoring and advising relationship between coalition special operations forces and the GDPSU Paktiya Provincial Response Company May 5, 2013. With the closure of this relationship the Paktiya PRC, a Ministry of Interior special police force that supports the Afghan provincial chief of police to execute high risk law enforcement operations, will assume full responsibility for special police operations in this province as the Afghan National Security Forces take the lead in bringing increased security and stability to the people of Afghanistan.
