Summary

NEW ORLEANS (May. 06, 2011) Bob Lipscomb, left, of WoodWard Design and Build, project manager for the Marine Force Reserve Headquarters project, identifies locations on a building plan to state Rep. Jeff Arnold, Mark Gorenflo, principal deputy for the Deputy Under Secretary of the Navy for Plans, Policy, Oversight and Integration, and Howard Myrick, a Marine Force Reserve support staff member. The state funded building will be home to more than 1900 active duty, reserve component and full-time support staff. The project has been awarded a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. Gorenflo is touring the facility as part of New Orleans Navy Week, one of 21 Navy Weeks planned across America in 2011. Navy Weeks are designed to show Americans the investment they have made in their Navy and increase awareness in cities that do not have a significant Navy presence.
